Ontario Premier Doug Ford spoke earlier this morning provide an update on the vaccine certificate program.
A QR scan app is being launched which will allow businesses to scan a code from customers phones to show proof of vaccination. Premier Ford says some can already access their information for the app as they plan to go by birth months.
“Individuals born in January, February, March and April can log onto Ontario’s vaccine portal to download their enhanced certificate which now includes their QR code.” said Ford.
Those born in May through August can access their code on Saturday with everyone else available on October 17th. The process to go by birth months is prevent the website from crashing due to high volumes.
Businesses also have access to the Verify Ontario app to prepare for the QR system.
The QR scan system for proof of vaccination will take effect Friday October 22nd.
