Section of Harrison Park Closed in Owen Sound after Diesel Spill in Parking Lot

City staff & Owen Sound Fire deployed spill response materials i the area and across the adjacent channelized watercourse on the west side of the Island section of Harrison Park.

Parks & Open Spaces Manager for Owen Sound, Adam Parsons, announced the closure of a portion of Harrison Park on Monday after a small amount of diesel fuel from an unknown source spilled in a parking lot at the site.

City staff & Owen Sound Fire deployed spill response materials in the area and across the adjacent channelized watercourse on the west side of the Island section of Harrison Park.

The Ontario Spills Action Centre was also notified and are working in partnership with the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change to carry out water and soil testing and to support in the cleanup effort.

Residents and visitors are asked to stay clear of the parking area north and east of theĀ  Harrison Park Inn and access to the Ski Hill Parking area at the Park remains closed to vehicles.
