There is a new program in Bruce County, and Huron-Kinloss, for entrepreneurs to foster a new business idea and receive all the support and guidance they may need.

It is called “The Homestead” and it allows an entrepreneur to test their business not on their own. It provides 3 months of office space, minimum of 30 hours open per week and point-of-sale, marketing, insurance and more.

The Hub in Ripley at 84 Huron Street says their facility is not just for businesses just starting out, but also those looking to grow or those preparing to sell. They say they can help with the process.

Huron-Kinloss Business Development Coordinator Lauren Eby says the successful applicant will have lots of support at their disposal.

Eby says she and others are there to help assist in such things as applying for grants, getting a business online or walking them through the latest piece of business software.

It is restricted to those 18 years and older and the deadline to apply for The Homestead is May 12th.

For more information and to apply visit the Huron-Kinloss Hub’s website.
