Charges are being laid to a youth after an incident at John Diefenbaker Secondary School in Hanover.
Hanover Police were called about someone at the school carrying a weapon Tuesday, possibly a firearm.
The school was placed in a hold and secure while officers searched for the suspected gunman.
They arrested a 14-year-old and seized what is described as a pellet pistol.
Investigators say there is no indication that the weapon was fired and there is no threat to public safety.
The hold and secure was lifted after the arrest was made.
