With June being National Indigenous History Month in Canada, it is the time to recognize the rich history, heritage, resilience and diversity of First Nations, Metis and Inuit People.

On Saturday Kincardine hosts activities to mark the month.

Starting at 9am in Victoria Park there will be a sunrise ceremony learning circle with Trish Meekins.

Following that Indigenous crafters and makers will be in Victora Park from 11 to 4 selling beaded art, jewelry, apparel, prints and more.

From 1 to 3 children can make crafts and listen to storyteller Krista White.

The Kincardine Sunset Quilters are featuring quilts created in honour of residential school survivors in the Kincardine Library Branch.

The Walker House is partnering with Kincardine to host 3 ground-breaking exhibits from the Legacy of Hope.

They are meant to create awareness of the residential school system, promoting healing, and encourage acts of reconciliation.
